LV: Rio’s Carnival World Buffet
The Rio Buffet used to be considered the best buffet in Las Vegas. Well, things have definitely changed. Price is not bad, $18 lunch/$25 dinner (locals get 50% off!). Variety is pretty good, they have your typical pastas, pizza, cocktail shrimps (no crab legs for lunch), prime rib, seafood, mexican, etc. but the cool thing is their Asian food. They have yeppan yaki as well as a soup bar that includes pho, udon, wonton, tom yum, etc. Unfortunately, the quality of food is just okay. Prime rib was too chewy, the clams were too salty, the teppan yaki was a little boring flavor-wise, the tom yum soup tasted like “canh chua,” & except the gelato station, the desserts are very forgetable.

garlic buttered clams, prime rib, BBQ ribs, calamari, macĀ & cheese, etc.

The udon soup is probably the best soup they have! The broth is nicely flavored and isn’t too bland, plus you get to add “bo vien.” Win.

Dessert selection is boring, but I love the coconut gelato! It is a must. The cookies & cream gelato & flan were good, too.
The 50% off discount justifies my reason for going back to Rio, but I would skip out on this if you’re just visiting and looking for good a good buffet. However, if using the 24-hour buffet pass, this may be one of the better buffets.
